Most artists who come from nothing and have to work their way into the business really DO care at first; but as their fan base grows from dozens to hundreds to thousands to millions, there is no way they can personally respond to every request.
Try to imagine that you just want to have lunch with your oldest friend, and you keep getting interrupted every 5 minutes by a complete stranger that thinks they know you. Then imagine that this happens all day, every day, and they even fly helicopters over your home to take photos and rummage through your garbage!
However, the ones who grow up being told that they're SOOOO SPECIAL are the ones who really are snobs. But even they can't fully be blamed, because they don't know any different. I see this with the kids who have athletic ability and are being groomed for college scholarships and pro sports careers, too. Based on potential alone, kids are being put on a pedestal and having grown folks that are willing to do anything for them in the hopes that the kid will hit the big-time and they might get a sliver of the pie.

They forget where they came from, when they were an unknown like most all of us. They also get caught up in the money, what it can do (good or bad), and they can grow weary of inconsiderate fans that won't let them have some serinity or privacy. It's a trade off, and they got to take the good with the bad. And It IS about FANS, because without them, where would they be?

Uhhhh.....maybe because they are human too and not some statue or image for you to call on whenever you want....they are singers...that is what they do.
When did artists have to start being personalities to make everyone happy by living vicariously through them?
Appreciate the art if it is art. Appreciate the fakes like most pop for what they are. Don't expect them to care about anything other than the music they make.

They are independent people, and they do care for their fans. If they didn't no one would go to their concerts, buy their CDs, watch their movies etc. But how would you feel if you had millions of fans and you want to make sure your career is on a good track and you'd have to sign autographs, which must make your hand hurt, and they probably try.

Because they are "above" us. They have millions of dollars (which most of us helped them get) and don't need to associate with common folks.
It's like the clichs from high school. The rich, popular kids would diss and/or ignore the less popular or different, even if they were friends with them in lower grades.
Of course, it also has to do with them always being pesterd by people who recognize them. Everyone likes to be left alone sometimes. They probably don't like to be stopped by every fan.
Mostly I think it's my former opinion. I think they forget that if it wasn't for fans they wouldn't be where they are.

well, they have there own lives and they cant care for the millions of fans they have! They probably get annoyed of people being so obssesed with them. Wouldn't you get annoyed if you were famous and everyone got up in your face like that asking for signatures and all that crap?

some singers care, they really do, but its hard to care about thousands and thousands of poeple you don't even know. when you hear about an earthquake or something in another country do you care very deeply about those people? and never forget that money corrups.

do you care about what people think about you? even if they are not your fans?
there are some famous people who do care, but for thous who don't are making the right choice because, water ever you do you do for yourself, not for anyone else.

Because we, as humans, don't care how other humans feel unless we have a personal investment in them
