You said it yourself "lately", which means your drugs and alcohol-taking are still in the early stages --THERE'S STILL A CHANCE TO STOP, YOU'RE STILL IN-CONTROL of what u wanna happen in your life.

I've been a 14 year old once (15 years ago!:),I must admit I've gone through the same things that your goin through. Looking back, I call it a period of "experimenting", meaning every teenager goes through a certain phase in their lives because they get satisfaction from it, just like you. Now, by saying satisfaction it can be from the feeling of being accepted by your peer group, a feeling that you finally belong to something and even the satisfaction of knowing that when your getting high or drunk, your actually making others happy! (that's what I felt years ago, I considered it very important that I make my friends happy so that they'll continue to like me! ). Now, whether your aware of these or not, it doesn't matter.

The nicest thing and it's important that you keep saying this to yourself, is: Real friends will love you and appreciate you more if they see that you value yourself, that your in-charge of your life, that your definitely not gonna mess it up! Once, you stop, you'll discover who your real friends are...and everyone deserves one.

G'luck girl...I know you can still quit. The mere fact that you had the courage to ask your question on how you can stop, shows you've taken a step forward.

If the older kids you hang out with are drinking and drugging, my advise would be to find a new group to hang with. Doing those things is only going to lead to trouble and bring you down. The more you drink and drug the more you'll need to get a buzz and before you know it, you are an addict. Believe me, I've been there. Stop now before you get in over your head or end up going to jail or juvie. You are young and have so much to look forward to and to experience.Hang out with people who have qualities that are going to make you a better person and help you accomplish your goals. You don't want to regret ruining your teenage years because of bad choices. Think about what you want to do with your life and set some goals for yourself. Make wise decisions....you'll never regret the accomplishments in your life but you will regret getting caught for drugs or underage drinking.

Far to young to be doing drugs and drinking. Your liver has not grown enough to handle drinking. And drugs... why are you doing that to yourself at such a young age? As for your friends. There's nothing wrong with hanging out with older people. My best friend is 16 years older than I am and my soon to be wife is two years older than I am. But if these friends have anything to do with you drinking and doing drugs, I strongly advise you get into a youth organization and straighten yourself out. You'll be glad you did later or you'll regret you didn't later.

Take care and good luck.

I think you need to find new friends. If you can, volunteer to work at a charity or get a part-time job. It may introduce you to some new people with a little more constructive outlook on life. Good luck! And, oih yeah, stop drinking and doing drugs, it's an alternative fantasy world that will ultimately leave you dry!

I did the same thing as you when I was your age. I talked to someone older than me who I knew wouldn't rat me out, but also knew didn't drink.
She helped me to find a different direction. She actually helped me to find a job, which took me away from that crowd and the drinking.
One of the keys will be to find a different crowd to hang out with and a different activity to take up the time you used to hang out with them.
I wish you all the luck.

Ummm... stop?

Or at least be responsible about it.
