We are very fond of fantasy books.

I am currently reading Chris Wooding - The Weavers of Saramyr (Braided Path #1).

The first Chris Wooding book I read was The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray - which is an excellent teen/adult book. (Ignore the off-putting cover of the Scholastic paperback version.)

Prior to 'Weavers' I was reading Margaret Mahy's 'Maddigan's Fantasia.' This is the book that the childrens tv series: Maddigan's Quest, filmed in New Zealand for BBC, came from.

My other half is reading Robert Jordan's 'The Eye of the World,' (The Wheel of Time #1). He says it is very good.

A really good author I recommend is Chaim Potok.
I have read a couple of his books...they are usually very sad
stories though you will end up in tears.

_The Battle for God_ by Karen Armstrong, a look at the development of fundamentalism within Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. A good book, and a timely topic, but maybe not quite on par with her book, _A History of God_.
