They have fanatics because they believe that what they believe is right. If it is right, then what ever it takes is the right thing to do. The Quran teaches hate, fear, power and revenge. Take your pick, they'll use it to justify their actions. They have no clue as to what peaceful co-existence means.
For my own idea, I say nuke the plants working on nuclear fuel enrichment and anything else that is nuclear that they have. Done properly, it all gets consumed in a flash of intense energy. Russia might rant about it, but they don't have the might any more to really be a threat. Russia is an issue that many do not seem to take into consideration. It would behoove Russia, for their own good to either join in, or just stay out of the issue. I would also target all warehouses, manufacturing plants that have the capability of making any kind of munitions, military bases, and all aircraft, or vessels of any kind. The mop up would be shoot anything that tries to fly, move across the borders, or go out on the waters around Iran. Bottle them up, and let them rot until they decide that it is their best interest to keep sectarian issues to themselves.

Probably there will be war with Iran, but I don't know when. They are not in a very good position for a war, but they keep doing these dumb things; maybe there is another way to deal with them besides war. Dismantling their nuke program would probably keep them at a low intensity, anyway.

First, the don't have nukes, not yet; did you know Iran has to IMPORT gasoline? Yup. They can pump oil but they don't have any refineries ... which is why war won't happen. There isn't any real incentive for them to go to an all-out war. What would they seek to gain? As for the British, they are back home and talking about how horrible the Iranians are ... it isn't working for the Iranians. Ironically, if we just left them alone their leadership would be toppled. What keeps the fanatics in power is the fear of the West ... if there was no fear, there'd be no fanatics

Well, last time I checked, and I do stay up on the news, there has been almost no mention of the two warships we sent over to the pershing gulf as a warning, I guess now that the hostages are free, they must have been redeployed to somewhere else, not sure because I just woke up and haven't seen any news yet, but it does seem that we are making our presence known, which would indicate to me that Bush is somewhat provoking that maniac. Too bad he doesn't care what his country wants, it's all loud and clear, in black and white, and all he can say is that he is the boss for now so tough luck, guess we just have to hope for the best until we hopefully get someone new in the white house, if he doesn't change the laws to prevent him from staying.

While we are currently in no position to invade Iran it will eventually happen as they are behind everything in the middle east. They supply all of the insurgents and give them the advanced Russian weapons. So to win the war on terror we must one day defeat Iran.

"It's a final countdown" with out creator out there in planet of apes.
