Because we don't want to!! It's amazing how many rugby and soccer fans talk trash on American football, when in all actuality, rugby and soccer players would get killed playing American football!! How many Euopeans and Mexicans (not tryin to be mean or racist, just making a point) do you see playing American football? NOT TOO MANY!!! AMERICAN FOOTBALL IS THE GREATEST!! By the way, this is an American Football Forum!! I am sick and tired of these fans of football wanna be soccer and rugby post stuff on here!! If people are so interested in soccer or rugby go the P*SSY section of Yahoo! Answers, they'll have everything you need.

When was the last time a rugby league got inner city youth off the streets? Football and basketball are a means to an end. What is rugby? Rugby is a fringe game played by people who suck at those sports or have too much time on their hands.
How many people have even seen a rugby game/match/whatever in person? No one cares about that sport and no one attached to that sport cares to market it in the U.S. That means it will never catch on.

well in america we play football for real the hits hurt alot even with the best pads money can buy . Before pads deaths in a game were common and the game was almost outlawed. So we're not scared just smart and more physical than any rugby country. besides rugby looks boring

What!!! We have some of the best damn athletes in the world! Why the **** can't we play rugby? Hey, i got an idea, let's make forums about how Europeans suck at playing football. I personally think we'd kick @ss in rugby, maybe not right away, but eventually we'd get up there.

I've seen an American rugby team against a foreign team and the American team was crushed, but that was over 10 years ago. The U.S. might have a better team now.

There are rugby teams in colleges, its not so famous but alot of colleges make it there prime sport other than the traditional football. They travel internationally and compete with foreign teams.

why not ask the opposite question: why are soccer, rugby, cricket, and other sports so wildly popular outside of the US?
Also, why are some sports just universally loved, e.g. chess, golf, basketball, etc.?
