I forget what that's called but is it really necessary to get help mentally and if so does that really work?

Only get help if your cleaning is a problem for YOU or causing more trouble for YOU than its worth.

There is help and it does work. I suggest starting with a good physical and then follow the reccomendations of your MD. People with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) are being successfully helped in many different ways. If one way does not work-another one probably will.

P.S. don't get hung up on getting "fixed"-your not broken-you have a problem and your taking care of it.

good luck.

Its probably an obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). As long as it does not interfere with your life or your relationships with people, it is not a bad disorder to have. Unfortunately, it often causes stressful relationships with others. Remember the Odd Couple? It was a Neil Simon play. It was about a OCD bachelor and a slob who lived together. It was a TV show also. Cleaning OCD often spills over into other areas of your life. It is good to have a little of it, but you have to keep it under control. People with OCD are usually very organized and can accomplish many things.

I think you may be thinking about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but it sounds more like an anxiety disorder. With OCD you get very anxious if you cant clean, but you also do things that are considered out of the ordinary- such as flipping light switches a certain number of times (called ritualizing) and to not do that causes the person a great deal of stress and anxiety.

You're thinking of OCD. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. As long as you're not bothering anyone with it and it doesn't keep you from getting things done, no problem. If it gets where it interferes with your life or it's annoying other people, you should see a counselor. There's medication to help reduce the symptoms.

I've heard of it being called OCD, but I personally don't think it's OCD.

my step-ma has that, and what i've come to realize is that if it makes you happy, then don't change it. It it floats your boat to see a clean house, and it gives you drive and determination then I see no problem to cleaning and organizing. If you rid yourself of that, you may find yourself empty and without anything to do, and thats the worst feeling in the world.

It sounds like OCD....obsessive compulsive disorder. If it starts to have a negative impact on your life, then definitely seek help. If it is mild and not having any adverse affects on you, then you are probably dealing with it alright.

It is only necessary if it starts to become a problem in your life. If it interferes with your daily tasks and you find yourself doing only that, then yes, you should probably get help.

It's called obsessive compulsive disorder when it starts to effect your life negatively.

If it's borderline, like you just like things nice and neat - then I wouldn't worry about it. If it's deforming your life and disableing you, then get help.

The help can work if applied correctly.
