I like light jeans better because I have small hips. Dark jeans do look dressier and can make your hips look smaller.

I LOVE dark jeans.......always sexy, flattering, slimming - plus dark jeans go casual to dressy/casual instantly because they don't look as casual as faded/light jeans, and have more fashion options from day-to-night. You can dress them up or down and they don't show dirt as much.... if you have a busy/carefree day and sit wherever, spill coffee, etc.

i like light better because sometimes if you wear a dark looking shirt [dark gray or blue] with dark jeans, it doesnt look ryt. whereas with light you could really match anything with it.

i like light jeans but sometimes i wear the mediam wash. I dont like dark that much though.

always a darker wash. They give you the illusion of being slimmer and they look more grown up/sexy/adult.
i hate light wash jeans. They make my butt and hips look bigger.

I love lightwash jeans because they're really versitile. You can wear them with sneakers and a graphic tee shirt*, leather boots and a cropped trench**, or even a deep purple cardigan and green velvet ballet flats***. Here is my fave pair of light wash jeans and the examples I described:
