I'm thinking about joining a theatre. Would acting cure my social phobia or at least help it?

I think it would definitely help you to get involved in theatre. The best thing about it is that when you are on stage you are playing a character and not yourself. I think it will help you overcome some of your social phobias. Good luck and enjoy. It sounds like fun.

I think that is a wonderful idea assuming you have a talent, hard work ethic and real desire to make people happy ( or sad). I think of Barbara Streissand who gets physically ill before a performance, and she does pretty well.
