Imagine reading through a complex technical manual for an integrated circuit. That’s how I feel when studying a history text.

Misery lies in the mind. Misery comes to tasks which you dislike.

For a skinny person who wants to put on weight, being skinny is miserable. For a fat person, being skinny is a desire.

Learn to combine dislike with likes to neutralise the miserable feeling. Eat while you study. Movies after you complete 2 chapters. Half hour gaming after 2 hours of study.

I find studying to be of great benefit. Sometimes I feel like a detective searching for whatever grain of wisdom I can find. My only weak spot is Math but even that I find interesting studying all the different laws and such.

and infinately different,
than studying under the instructors baton.

and, as the 'sophist' vaguely implies,
"enjoy" what you study.
