The Brits aren't liars...They just didn't handle themselves well under duress. Why is everyone so willing to believe the Iranians who instigated this attack and not the Brits? All you have to do is look at the body language of the Brits on tape AND that the Iranians changed their own story initially as to what latitude/longitude they picked the sailors up on. Not to mention, that it is practically impossible to forge GPS records.

Ahmadinijad has a long history of using hostages to achieve his political goals. What makes you think this episode was any different?

The UK should have given Iran a choice, our sailors, or your power plants. Keep your story, and our people, and we'll knock out every power station we know about. That puts your country in the dark. The alternative is, tell the truth, and let our people go.
It would only take 1 or 2 power stations scattered across the country side for Iran, IF they are bright enough, to give in.
I believe the sailors were telling the truth.

Right! The man who says the Holocaust never happened is telling the truth! I'm sure of it!
Why would the British sailors steadfastly lie about their location, when it would have been so much easier to agree with their captors? The reason they say they were in Iraqi waters is because it is the truth. Even the Iranians gave the correct location at first, until they realized their mistake and had to make up a lie.

If Britain and the world were not such cowards they would have attacked the Iranians before anyone was taken prisoner. To let that happen showed the world's weakness. It is like ignoring Hitler back in the 30's. I hope if Iran tries it again the naval force there will take out the Iranian Navy and Air force just to make the point we will not tolerate that stuff. Reagan gave them a lesson and I think Bush will smack them and then deal with the nut cases in congress like Pelosi and Reid. Those two lack any moral standard or honor and the bad image they project weakens this country.

Blair, Bush, MOD - I do not buy your lies and deceit. I know where you want to head to. Iran. These pathetic liars want to take those pathetic bitish soldiers to war with Iran. Then lets guess. Move on to North Korea. You British Soldiers are so stupid, your not fighting for Queen or Country, but a bunch of Hitlers (Bush, Blair, MOD). Its so funny NOT that an injured UK Soldier who ibecomes handicapped gets £50 per week to survive for the rest of his life. Wake up soldiers. Did you not learn from the NAP tablets during the first Iraq Invasion ? The MOD gave you these so called NAP tablets to protect you from Biological Weapons, but instead it led many of you to give birth to handicapped children and bad health, what did you get for your sacrifices ? what did the 2nd world war veterans get for their sacrifice ? death from cold in winter, because they have no money to pay fro bills from their pensions, what a great government we have, it really is the leader when it comes to providing for those that protect our civil liberties, NOT.

You powerful guys don't fool me. STOP all your nonsense in controlling the world, instead concentrate on your deteriorating NHS Services, Your pathetic Network Rail Services, and learn to be BLOODYaccountable. Look at Bradford, with a pathetic Council, wanting to blow millions on a Hollywood makeover for the city, with a canal, ha ha. Are people gonna commute to work by canal ? That 450 million could be better spent on business parks in the city, attracting commerce to the area and thereby provinding better jobs and prospects for Council Tax Payers of Bradford, instead of going down the drain. This city and its caretakers have just crippled it, take a leaf out of nearby Leeds. First and foremost you need to have a city whose people are united not divided. Progress can only come after that. British Politics stinks. No one Party can deliver. Once in power they only look after their own interests. People of Britiain, stand up and be counted. Don't be fooled by the media. I would wish that no one votes in the next elections, and then follow up with a peaceful demonstration and demand that a new system be put in place, whereby not politicians but the people of britain decide on all issues. And that those responsible to put things into action, are ACCOUNTABLE. This is not rocket Science.

The British sailors lied. Thats what I believe. Actually they should have apologised to Iran for tresspassing and then thanked them for their forgiving gesture later.
But it takes courage to be truthful and accept one's fault which the sailors did not display............

Considering Irans record for taking hostages, I believe the sailors. Unless you were on one of the ships how can you be so sure its the sailors who are lying?

No one has any idea who's telling the truth when it comes to politics. Unless you know the sailors, we'll never truly know what happened.

The fact is, you do not know yourself for sure who is telling the truth.
I won't make that judgement call.
