Having experienced these things from one end of the spectrum (out with a bang) to the other (out with a whimper), I'd say that where ever one finds oneself on this continuum, honesty is usually the best policy. All one really can do is state clearly what you want, what your intentions are, and the other has the choice to accept, or not. Regardless of their choice, you must stand centered and resolved.

im not usre but i can tell you NOT to do it online or over the phone and dont get someone to do it for you. do it in person so they can take you 100% seriously and they wont approach you later.
