Your who you are. Next time someone says something to you, say you need people like me around , so you have someone to pick on. Your not everything I'd like to be either. If they dont like you for who you are, tell them to move on and find new friends because your not changing.

Just be yourself..that is the only cool thing you can do. I think doing what everyone else is doing is geeky. Are you in highschool? I was a "geek" in high school. I tried to change..I lost a lot of good friends and missed some opprotunities that way. I wish I would have stayed who I was..because I am trying to find myself again..at 24. Why not dance in front of people...show them who you are. If they say anything to dyou..tell them to F off. Tell them they are not cool. Find everything about them that is wrong and call them on it. Don't take it! Make a stand!!! If you stand up for yourself, eventually, people will not say things as often..and eventually stop.

Seriously, embrace your geeky-ness. I love the geeky-ness I have inside me. I don't care if people think I'm strange or anything. Those are the people I don't want to chill with anyway.
Don't stress it so much. Just be who you are. If you can dance, then DANCE. Don't worry if people are staring at you. If you like to read, then READ. Don't worry if people think that makes you a nerd. Actually, the people who think like that are probably dumb as an ox and can't finish a book in a year. Believe me, you have one up on them.

You must be in High School - I remember well being told similar things but choosing to be me anyway. At my reunion a few years back I was really surprised to find how many people remembered me and they all thought I was pretty popular (something I never felt then). They all remembered different things we did together and liked that I was never part of a clique. It just goes to show if you are the person you want to be people will want to be around you. Good Luck!

And you should not care what they think. You will have a life of your own someday and they will still think the world is all about how to fit in, well it's not fun once you do grow up. I'm a dork and a geek and I'm proud of it. I have confidence and don't give a hoot who sees me outside of my home. PS this is making me a level 3 (again,2nd acct) Don't change for anyone, because they don't really matter for this kind of life.

Just be yourself and dont worry about them. You dont have to and shouldn't ever change just to fit in with a certain group of people. If they dont like you for who you are then obviously they just dont know how kewl you really are.

Don't worry about what other people think about you. It's not their place to judge you. Just be yourself, you don't have to change for anybody. Your real friends will be there for you, no matter what, and that's all that counts. I think the people who judge someone, are insecure with themselves.

Girlie, if you listen to what everyone thought and tried to change to their liking, you would go crazy! Love and respect yourself for who you are.If your 'friends' want you to be something else then they aren't friends at all.
