If you want a scientific reason, the goal of all species in life, including humans, is to reproduce.
But on a more philosophical note, there can be no definite answer to the question "What is the meaning of life" because, as indirectly stated above, everything is subjective. The reason for existence is different for everyone, whether it be for a passion, to love, to seek, or to discover why you exists.
What is applicable to everyone is the fact that people live their lives for a multitude of reasons. Discovering what a person is living for can only be determined by that individual.

Most people have asked these questions. We want to understand the larger purpose and meaning of our lives. Without purpose, living day to day can become tedious and empty.
Fortunately, there are answers to these questions—answers that can give you a sense of purpose and help you find lasting happiness. Answers such as:
You are a child of God.
Before you were born, you lived as a spirit with God, your Heavenly Father.
You came to Earth to learn to be more like God.
When your life on Earth is over, you can return to live with your Heavenly Father.

The life is the meaning. If you want a final answer, become an unliving nothing. The Judgment is negative and the Will is positive. If you are nothing but Judgment, meaning is negated. You asked the question, so what does it mean.

That's can be only answered by saying that the meaning is to love and be loved . Sounds to easy but if you think about it we all want to be loved or be able love . Even in the bad things people do they sometimes do it out of love, we all feel the need to be accepted by people and feel like we matter to someone so i would say that the meaning is love no matter how you break it down everything somehow can be traced back to love , its why we do what we do, we work to feed our family's because we love them . So the meaning is to love and be loved.

I keep answering this question and yet, it continues to be asked, over and over and over...
"The Meaning of Life" is a film by that wacky, witty British crew of actors and social commentators Monty Python. Frankly, I don't think it's nearly as good as their "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" (the Arthurian legend, currently a Broadway musical called "Spamalot") or "The Life of Brian" (the Bible stories).
The wonderful Pythons have, more or less, gone their separate ways (including on to the afterlife) but thanks to the magic of video and DVD, their works continue to live on.
