Gah! I can't believe how many people fall for Apple's marketing. Apple iPod=Mp3 player. Mp3 player = iPod. It's that simple.
Apple tried to make the iPod seem different from other MP3 players on the market by simply never calling it an MP3 player - and they duped a lot of people into believing that it was something different.
It's just an MP3 player with flashy controls, restrictions on what you do with your music files and a hugely jacked-up price tag. If you like your flashy controls and prefer paying over-the-odds then great, otherwise you might want to consider not acting like a sheep and thinking outside the box when you buy your next portable music device.

I prefer iPods. They are very intuitive and the design is very sleek. You don't have to convert MP3's to put them on the iPod necessarily. To get them onto your iPod you need to import them into iTunes. The automatic format is AAC. However you can change this (which i have) so that it imports as MP3's. iPods are just a range of MP3 player such as the creative zen.

Umm, you put mp3's on an Ipod. Unless Apple has invented a new file type for the ipod, called ipod. (which wouldn't surprise me at all) An ipod is an mp3 (among others) storage device.
And I'm still trying to figure out that one girl's answer, More expensive - more value? Huh? I only own one because I found one that somebody lost. I'd have never spent the $300 on it. Thanks again Greg, whoever you are.

iPods are limited of their function as you may no longer fairly use the different application to boot iTunes with it, can no longer share songs with different computers, and would convert movies to an mp4 format in case you prefer to play something. So fairly lots while you're taking your iPod over on your friends dwelling house to sync up along with his library, it's going to overwrite something you have already got on your iPod thoroughly as a replace of sharing the two certainly one of ya'lls playlists. additionally i'm fairly valuable something you acquire from the iTunes save is merely usable on iPod/iTunes and the rest you attempt to apply it with wont enable it. Zune places out a respectable media participant I hear regardless of the undeniable fact that it dosen't have the comparable form as iPod. i individually have an iPod video, and that's alot of relaxing, merely sounds like it would desire to be greater versitile.

I would prefer an ipod. It has a wheel to adjust the volume, and to go up and down. I think that is very creative.
