What is the Diameter of a circle with a circumference of 5?

Circumfrence = pi times diameter, so it's 3.1415927 times 5. The answer will contain an infinite number of decimal places, since pi itself has an infinite number of decimal places. But the answer is 15.708, more or less.

By definition, pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference (C) to its diameter (D). Thus, pi = C/D; so that C = pi D always, no matter what the size of the circle. This means as D gets bigger, C has to get bigger, too, to keep pi equal to the same value.

The tricky part is memorizing what pi equals. Unfortunately, pi is an irrational number, which means it goes on forever. Roughly, pi = 3.14159 or very roughly 22/7. In any case, to find area, circumference, and such of a circle, you need to memorize what pi is.

For your problem, you need to work C = pi D = pi 5; you can do the math.

Circumference= pi d
= 22/7* 5 ( pi is approx 22/7)
=110/7 (i like putting things in fractions)

If you know the circumference (5) and want to find the diameter (as you mention in the additional details), then you'll have to divide 5 bi Pi. So the answer is 1.591549

Multiply diameter to pi.

C=pi xdiameter
c=5x3.14
c=15.7
