You will definitely need an attorney on this one. Especially since you have been divorced for 3 years. Because your divorce is already final, it may be difficult. People say you can get the cops out there with you to keep anything from happening (they will not help you move anything), but you may need a court order, based on the length of time.

If I were you I certainly would rather be safer than sorry..I guess you could bring your mom with you but I fear it would probably the same answer if it is the truth or not, however if the police are with you (by the way you can go to the local sheriffs office and ask for an escort and by law they are obligated to provide this service for you) I would think that with the authorities present he would be more truthful and forthcoming everyone is when the police are around why mess around don't you think that you have waited long enough? good luck....Angel

If you have reason to believe that your things are still in the house than I would get a lawyer to take him to court. You can also go through small claims court to get the judge to order him to give you your belongings back. Good luck.

Calling the police is going to be pointless here, you are already divorced, and in the divorce does it state these items he has? why has it taken 3 years to get back and get them.. He can now charge you to store them.. hope he dont know that.. You are going to have to go through a lawyer, and if you cant do that you are going to have to get them to give you your items back. Since he has had them so long, if he dont have them you cant do anything about it now, and he can keep them if he wants them if they were not stated in your divorce degree.. good luck, just be real real nice to him and see where it gets you..

You should made a police report first and then proceed with the legal action, make sure you have a good lawyer. You should not go with your mum as he might have prior intention to harm you.

That should have been taken care of with the divorce. If he won't let you in and if the divorce papers don't say anything about it, your out of luck, been there and done it. I wasn't able to get everything out, but he said I did. His word against mine, so nothing I could do but chalk it up to a expensive lesson learned.

Take legal action. Let him try telling a judge no he isn't going to give you your things. See how far he gets with that.

Head straight to an attorney's office and get a consultation. Most attorney's offer free consultations. Take your divorce papers with you.

I think I would request police escort with divorce papers in hand rather than your mother.

Call the cops and have them meet you at his house. They will let you get your stuff, but you'll only have like 10 minutes to gather it with your police escort. Bring your mom if she knows what's yours and knows what to grab. Jeez, doesn't everyone watch COPS??
