Ive recently bought a Bonsai and so far so good I also bought a book but am still curious about some things

1. Taking cuttings, where and how and am I not just cutting wood (part of the branch( and planting it that wont grow will it.

2. Can I take cuttings from trees in my local wood and whats the likely hood of them growing indoors?

3. Should I wire my tree or do I just do that if Im not happy with the shape.

4. When should I report I have a Japanese Elm.

5. How often should I feed Ive seen some things you put in the soil and it will feed it for 15 days and what is the best food to use.

Also can any kind of pot be used as a bonsai pot as long as I put mesh at the bottom and put some holes in it?

The right kind of book will answer those questions for you, however,
1. The photos in the book will show you how, it can't be explained in text.
2. Yes, but of course, you need to know what time of year on what species of tree, old wood? new wood? All this will be in the book.
3. Wire it only if trimming will not suffice, and only if you want to change the shape.
4. I guess you mean "repot" instead of "report"...now is the time to do it. Are you sure it is a Japanese elm? Probably it is a Chinese elm.
5. Monthly during the growing season. Your best best is a liquid fertilizer that mixes with water. It's difficult to do better than fish emulsion.
