I keep on having dreams that seem very life like.
For example, I want braces REALLY bad so I can have perfect teeth and I keep bugging my parents about it.. I had a dream three times that I had gotten braces. Does this mean anything?

Yes, It means that soon you are going to have braces. Usually when you really remember a dream and it seems life like it means that it is something to warn you of in the future and you have to read it yourself. So, I think you may be getting braces soon!

Here's how I explain dreams...

Dreams are the result of your subconscious sorting your day out. Think of it as a filing cabinet, your mind opens the drawers, flips thru the files trying to find the appropriate place to put the emotions, actions, activities etc of your day.

So when you dream about someone you haven't seen in a while, it's your brain catching sight of that person in another file it's passed over or perhaps in the one it was looking for. So if you dream about an old flame, it's not that you necessarily want to be with that person, it's more about the feelings you associate with that person. Perhaps you feel you lack those feelings in your current relationship.

So the symbolism of dreams won't be the same for everyone.
Take a horse for example. Not everyone loves horses. Some are terrified of them, some see them as powerful beasts to be respected, some see them as a tool of work, etc. It's about how the object makes you feel that is important, not the actual object.

When analyzing your dreams, you should pick out the main points and write down the emotions connected to them. Then look at your daily life and see where things line up. The fact that you dreamed about having braces probably has more to do with "winning" this argument with your parents than the actual act of getting braces. Plus, you said you've been bugging them about it so it's clearly on your mind.

A dream is much more personal because it is completely written by you. You are in control of what happens, from beginning to end. It’s easy to forget that because it occurs in your subconscious, but it is your mind creating the plot of the dream and no one else’s.

Certainly, events that happen in our "awake" life affect the story lines, but how we deal with those events in our dreams is entirely up to us. And we can be so much more than we perceive ourselves to be in real life! Where we may feel weak or timid when awake, in our dreams we have the power and confidence to confront any challenge. The impossible is possible. A famous Walt Disney commercial says "a dream is a wish you heart makes, when you’re fast asleep." Dreams create the life we want to lead in our imagination. No wonder we are so anxious to hit the snooze button and continue our fantasy for a while!

But, does it have to be fantasy? Why does the best part of us have to be reserved for when we are asleep? Paul MacCready, a scientist and inventor best known for his inventions in human-powered flight credits many of his big successes to daydreaming: "The only big ideas I've ever had have come from daydreaming, but modern life keeps people from daydreaming. Every moment of the day your mind is being occupied, controlled, by someone else—at school, at work, watching television." In other words, the conscious world is controlling our thoughts when we are awake, not the subconscious.

If we want for something to happen, why can’t we use some of the creative power that creates our vivid night dreams to make them come true when we are awake? If we allow ourselves, we can write the story of our life to meet our expectations. As Henry David Thoreau said: "If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." Okay, I admit that stuffed animals will probably never talk. And granted, just like an action movie, our life’s story line may make twists and turns we don’t expect. But unlike the movies, the control over the ending is not up to other people. And, although we may not know today how the story will end, we do know one thing. It is just fake and cant predict the future.

Some dreams are from God and are prophetic, some from God are a warning. Some dreams are psychological and can reflect your personal concerns, thoughts, feelings and experiences in your everyday life. Some dreams are because we eat foods that cause us to have strange dreams, some dreams are because we have watched a certain thing or tv, listen to a particular music etc, some dreams are caused by a physical issue such as sickness, pregnancy etc Some dreams are also from the devil and demons as well.

Even in Biblical times the value of dreams was questioned. In reality, I'd guess they mean something.

Whether you get braces in the future or not, dreaming you have braces is symbolic of having guides and support that serve you well.

Your support system may or may not care about perfect teeth, but they care about you.

It means you really want braces-in your dreams you can have anything you want reality is a different story. If your Dentist thinks you should see an Ortho for braces that will convince your parents but if it is only a vanity and not a medical process that won't happen. Good luck!

Dreams do reflect your present life. Sometimes they tell of a need you have or something that needs to change in your life. Your dream is reflecting your present need for braces, and is basically encouranging you to do whatever you can to get them and you will, but the fact that you keep dreaming about it, it is pushing you to find every opportunitty to get the braces, maybe your dream is also telling you this is the right time or teh right opportunity to do so. Listen to your drem... You can do it, The best of luck!!!!

Your dreams are a way of your mind breaking down what is happening in reality, it's your mind going wild without the barriers of everyday life. Your dream is showing how much you want braces.

Dreams are mostly your subconscience which is great help later in life, like when you'll get "reminders" by our dreams. Don't sweat the little dreams, but If you have any about death or bad things happening it is your subconscience saying "hey there are bigger badder things out there than worrying about what you wear!"

You really want braces. You may or may not get them. In order for you to remain sleeping at night, your body is letting you dream that you are getting them. This way you aren't up all night worrying that you won't get them.

Hope you are able to get your teeth fixed.
