Yes, we torture prisoners but I wonder why we bother. If someone were to torture me I would tell them anything they wanted to hear! But that wouldn't make it the truth, just what they wanted to hear! So why does any country bother?
This country woke up to the fact that POW's were being tortured in Vietnam so the government finally told them to tell all they were asked to tell & they would not be held accountable when they were freed, good idea.
If a person with vital information is taken prisoner & the country doesn't change it's plans, the country is at fault not the man who talks! For a person to serve his country honorably, is taken prisoner & then asked not talk under torture is stupid & barbaric.

You compare that to a government that caught some of it's troops doing fraternity stunts and gave them jail time?
