I would say I am a giver. I love nothing better than to give a friend a gift that lights up their face. I love doing things for my friends. An example of this: My best friend who is 20 just discovered her 38 year old mom is pregnant with her fourth child. There is a lot of drama to this story so my friend has been depressed. And it hurts me to see her upset so I had her over for dinner yesterday and today we made cookies together and watched funny movies and later she is coming over to spend the night. I hate when others are hurting and I will do just about anything to help them.
Further examples are when I was younger maybe 7 I went to Mexico and we went walking around the city and I saw all this young girl with a baby on her back crying. My mom had given me $10 to spend on something and instead of buying a toy I gave to the girl. I also volunteer at the food bank and help plant trees for the city on my weekends. I could not think of better use for my time.

I try to be a giver at this point in my life. I do know however that I do things sometimes out of personal motives. I like to be acknowledged when I do nice things.. If I was a better person maybe I would do it out of total selfless love, but sadly I'm not that highly evolved yet. I can only hope that someday I will do things totally without selfishness.

Mostly I consider myself a giver. Normally it doesnt bother me and I enjoy it, every now and then I start to feel taken for granted but not often.
