If so tell me something. Two of my friends that are going with me will not go on this due to deaths that have occurred. Are they being serious, and if so were there circumstances involved?

There were a couple of deaths that were basically due to undiagnosed conditions that were agravated by the cetrifuge that the ride uses. You can do a google search and probably find dozens of links if you want to get into the details.

Because of this they now have two versions of the ride. One uses the centrifuge and one does not. When you get in line for the ride they will ask which one you want to do. If you are worried in the least choose the one that is not. They hand you a color coded boarding pass(Orange or Green) and you follow the line for your pass, this way it is not possible to get in the wrong line and end up on the version you don't want.

The versions are identical except that they just don't use the centrifuge on the milder version.

Yes. It is the most dangerous ride that I have been on out of all the amusement parks I have ever been to. This ride also holds the records for the most warnings posted before you get on the ride I have ever seen! I was nauseated for 30 minutes after I got off of it. One of the warnings tell you not to close your eyes when you get on because you will get sicker and confused when you get off. I would try to ride scary, but not as dangerous rides such as Space Mountain, Big Thuder Raildoad Mountain, and The Twilight Zone Hotel Of Terror before ever getting on Mission Space at Epcot Center.

i went on that ride before they decided to make a milder version. i am not the kind of person that likes roller coasters at all but i loved this ride. usually when i go on a roller coaster, i would get very sick to my stomach. despite all the warnings that said do not ride this if you usually get motion sickness, i still decided to go on it and i'm very glad i did. it was probably the best ride i have ever been on. it was very exciting and i suppose it felt like what it would have if you were in space. the g forces were a little extreme at points, but overall it was a great exciting ride.

I went on the intense one and I didn't think it was too bad. I just did not like the major claustrophobia in that capsule. It was so small! But other than that, ride most reminded me of the feeling you get when you ride that carnival ride, Gravitron, that spins you around really fast. If you can handle that, you should be fine with the intense one.

went on it with my 13 yr old daughter and my 8 yr old son. We totally loved it but I do admit when it got going there were a couple places when I hoped the g force would not get any more extreme so that my shomach would stay put!!!
It was my third time, so it wasnt something that would keep me from experiencing the thrill again!
I say go for it!

I think there must have been other circumstances involved. We rode it several time and were fine. I was a little nervous at first because simulation type rides make me sick, but this one was great!

Yes, I have been in the mild one because in the other one the line was too long. It was good, no problem at all.
Before you get in the building somebody will ask you which version you want.
