HONESTLY! I can't believe people watch that drivel! It was all about those disgusting hooahs standing there like the vacuous ditzes they are! I only saw it once for about 5 minutes (before I vehemently vomited) and knew it was a hoax! What crap goes on television today?! And why! Anyone who can stomach that show has mighty digestive enzymes, or just a severe lack of brain cells! Ok, just had to say that!

Hmmm. This is not a question but an opinion, no?
And wonder of wonders, people who wrote in "answers" are the ones who do not like "deal or no deal "either. Hah, arent we transparent or what. LOL
There isnt much to watch on TV and occasionally, that is all there is to watch. I agree with you, the contestants are over the top and too well, over-enthusiastic. Too much that you can predict what they will say or decide next.
Not so much challenge there really, and no intellectual buttons to push to get monetary rewards. Do you learn something? No. Do you get entertained? A little.
Why do people watch? Who knows. The blinking lights from the box called TV.

Deal or No Deal and its deceptively simple format have attracted attention from mathematicians, statisticians, and economists as a study of decision making under pressure. A team of economists have analyzed the decisions of people appearing in European and US episodes of Deal or No Deal and found, among other things, that contestants are less risk averse or even risk seeking when they have seen their expected winnings tumble.[1] The study received a great deal of media attention, appearing on the front page of The Wall Street Journal on January 12, 2006 as well as being featured on National Public Radio in the United States on March 3, 2006

I don't think its all that bad. Its a good show to watch with the family (meaning G-rated) and it's interesting to see how good someones luck is and how greedy they are. Obviously it and many others lack the educational aspect or even the challenging aspect. To hate it so much is a little much, but whatever, you are entitled to your opinion,

Who cares if the models know (who knows if they do are not, are you one?!) what amount is inside the case before they open it. It isn't about if they knew, it's about the people that go on and WIN money. Are they a hoax also? They just pick people and it's all staged? Yeah, I doubt that. You're very critical and I find it sad you took time out of your life to talk about something you say "SUCKS".

Ain't it the truth! First, you have to be a nutcase extrovert on the verge of a nervous breakdown to be a contestant on this show. The odds are ridiculous, and winning is just a matter of percentages. If they offer 1/3 of the highest amount left in play, I suggest they take the offer and use their extroverted personality to work it into a million.

OK, look, you may be rich and have a lot of money and live on some big Mansion and everything, but, really, people work to get money. So, going on a show and wining a lot of cash sounds good to me. Sorry, but it had to be said, and if you keep on watching that show you might actually win some of it by going to their site and participating in the "weekly number."

I hope you're feeling better now!. Perhaps people (like me) watch it because it is entertaining. Many shows on TV now and in the past could be considered pure drivel and nonsense. The Gong Show and My Mother, The Car come to mind. But for all their dumbness, they all have one thing in common. They were then and are today, entertaining. And that is all they are meant to be, nonsense and all!
