Hi. A computer is only as good as the software available for it, with that said take a look at your local retail stores or even online stores and compare whats available and prices.
Tough choice? Far from that IMO.
If Steve Jobs would try working together with MS and leave the competition (or misleading, bashing info) aside I think both could benefit.

you should really take a look at some of the past questions. a lot of people dont know to get a mac or pc. stop listening to the people who say "get mac it is so much better" or "get windows it is so much better" Want to know the truth? Both operating systems are good. they each have their strengths and weaknesses. But what it really comes down to is which YOU feel more compfortable with. I've worked with a Mac all my life, so I dislike windows, I dont deny it. My friends have worked with windows all their lives. They say windows rocks. Yet still others switch operating systems and find they like one or the other better. So you what you really gotta do is find a buddy who has a pc and work with it a few times. get a friend who has a mac and work with that. Which ever you like, get. Sorry, but there is no straight foward answer of get ___. good luck!

pass with a mac laptop. the hot OS X "Leopard" can do way extra effective than vista anyhow, and there are video games attainable for mac. Oct. twenty 6th i'm making plans on identifying to purchase the hot iMac for $1199 if it comes pre put in wth leopard. anyhow, a mac is lots extra good than a computer, i take advantage of them the two interior a similar day (macs in college, my laptop at abode) and that i admire mac because of the fact the OS isn't a POS. abode windows freezes each and all of the time and continuously is liable to viruses that would even harm your no longer easycontinual. Mac's are based on the unix OS, a single kernel working equipment, which makes them lots much less susceptible. in case you think of roughly it, mac is a extra applicable purchase than laptop, particular it fee slightly extra effective than a computer, yet interior the top it could even out. purchase a webcam, anti virus, probable spend money repairing stupid blunders on your laptop, upload some desent utility and additionally you probable spent extra effective than that on a computer, once you have in basic terms bought a mac. And the OS will take a pair of day to be taught if that, that's lots extra trouble-free to function than a computer. And apple has a help menu interior the menu bar that has laptop to Mac translations (all classes=macintosh hd, etc.)

I have used PC's for over 20 years as a professional IT person. About a year ago I bought my first Mac and I love it. I am typing on it right now. I have not run ANY anti-virus software or any other kind of protection for over a year now and have had NO problems. And of course, if you want, you can now run Windows on a Mac, but you can't run Mac OS/X on a PC. They are beautiful, fast, reliable, and just more fun to use.

I have both a custom PC and IMAC, both are duo-core, using 4GB of ram and equipped with powerfull Nvidia & ATI cards.
I use my PC more because there are more options. Viruses are easy to remove and you can recover a file or repair it easily only if you do it yourself.
When I use my IMAC I use it to help my friends improve their band clarity and Help my Girlfriend with her photography contrast, IMAC monitors are much better and their software is more organized, as for PC I use it for Games and myspace but if your not carefull you can easily get frustrated with all the errors and hardware failure issues that pc encounters. but can these problems be ressolved on a PC ofcourse it can!
(MAC OS X 10.4 is a good OS)
(Windows Vista is encountering a lot of problems)
(Windows XP is the best for PC as of now)

Macs are much better looking than PCs
there good at doing what they claim to be good at doing
mostly media relating things
a PC is MUCH more powerful and you can do a lot more things with it
I would recommend getting a Dell Inspiron series laptop

Mac wins hands down! I've only owned Mac's but am familiar with PC's. I install new software about once a year, up grading as the OS X progresses.
Go to http://www.apple.com/ and lose yourself in any and all things Apple!

From what I have heard, Mac is good for editing (films and such) and things of that nature. While PC's are good for everything else.

Get a Mac, you won't be disappointed.
Btw, ignore any "advice" you may get from "Mrs. Dell", she has absolutely no idea what she's talking about.
