I have a propane tank for my grill that's almost full, but when I hook it up to the grill, the valve to open the tank won't turn at all. How can I fix it, or where can I take it to get fixed? I took it to the gas station where they sell propane, but they had no clue.

Gas and Fireplace shops will help you. They have a special impact type of wrench run off of an air gun that can free that valve without breaking it off. Usually there is no charge for this service.

use a ratchet strap and strap it to a strong pole . this will keep it from turning as you use a pipe wrench or 12 inch channel pliers. do not force too much . for best results work it in both direction very easy until it will turn freely . very easy mean's to put just a little bit of presure in both directions

Barrbou2 is rite. It isn't worth the hassel to get the tank looked at. Just exchange it.

Get leverage on it somehow. If you can get a three foot piece of pipe (or anything long and strong such as a 2x4) onto a pair of vice grips, it should come free rather easily.

take the tank to a wal-mart and exchange it for one of the refillable rhino types, when rhino gets it they will refurbish the tank.
