That happened to me, the end of the barrel was about an inch from my nose and the trigger was cocked, and I knew one wrong word " and" ..I didn't say a thing, worked out great !

Once as a kid but only and "thankfully" shot with a pellet gun, shot by a friend because I said the wrong thing. I learned from that i guess.

Same thing happened to me with multiple "knives", and twice with just "one" knife to my side "not a word" and here I am ! :)

There's no sure way to do such a thing, but statistics state that 9 out of ten times when a person draws a gun and does not use it right away, then chances are good that he/she really doesn't want to shoot you, thus it's best to remain silent unless the gun holder asks you a direct question, then it's advisable to answer the question without adding excessive detail, and providing that you do not upset, or cause nervousness to the gun holder, then it's advisable to converse with him/her, ask why he/she is holding you at gun point, and offer sympathy, do not make threats of any kind, such as, you'll never get away with this, my boyfriend/husband will hunt you down, the cops will shoot a million holes in you, and things of that nature...

Talking from experience you really dont say a thing. You are literally scared stiff. All this,do this do that c*ap, dont you believe it. Everything happens in slow motion and your body goes into survival mode, which DOES NOT mean you tackle the gun man, that would be suicide. Its the most surreal experience ever, bloodthumping in your ears, speach sounding as though its in slow motion and your mind going double speed, thinking about family, thinking about your life and how you dont want to die. And if the gun man says "Shut Up" you DO IT, not play cowboys and indians. Horrible, and not a situation in which you try to be a hero

It depends on what their saying.
Different things work at different times.

1) Listen.
2) Look them straight in the eyes.
3) Do not say sorry, (kindness is easily mistaken for weakness)

Ask them if they want the hassle of a ten stretch just for some random beef, or depending on where you are an who ya friends are tell em straight "do you have any idea what your about to start, 'cus this won't end tonight if you pull the trigger"

It all depends on who's got the gun an why its been pulled.

The best thing to do is to pretend to collapse. It's unlikely that you could talk your way out of a situation like this. If the gun man wants to shoot you, he/she will.

if somebody other than a cop is pointing a gun in your face you can be rest assured that person has commited themselves to killing you. words wont matter, so if escape isnt an option act quickly.

i would say the worst thing to say would be 'you are not a killer' because if they have pointed a gun in your face, they clearly have a killer's mentality, and they might just prove this and this can be bad. if you don't already know, try to find out why this person is so angry at you. once you find that out slowly break down their emotional problems, and they won't end up shooting you.

Someone who is going to shoot you will do so almost immediately... it's a statistic. Any longer, and they're trying to scare you (it'll probably work too!). Don't do anthing to aggravate them, though, they'll probably shoot just for doing that.
