Randy is right. But more specifically, if you look on your checks, at the very bottom, there are two sets of numbers. The second set should be your checking account number. The first set (9 #'s) should be your bank transit (routing) number.

It is the routing number established for a specific financial institution. This is used for the Federal ACH (automatic clearing house) for electronic money movement. Such as direct deposit or wire transfers.
