as i plugged in a video card, system sounds work fine, does not have error sounds, and the fan on the video card still runs, but the i cannot see anything on the monitor

My money is on KvG. I too have installed a card, sound not video, and just assumed something would happen even without the drivers and so forth. It may in some cases but I know that terrible sinking feeling when you call in the tech help and they ask about the drivers.

Check the documentation for your motherboard (you may have to go on line to get it) and disable any integrated video capabilities, install all the drivers and don't forget the ones for the monitor if it has any. Again a trip to the web may be in order.

If after you cross all the "T"s and dot all the "I"s if it still isn't working try the card in another computer.

Motherboards are pretty tough animals and I wouldn't be looking at that until I was completely satisfied that every other avenue had been explored and eliminated. With special emphasis on software and human error.

Good luck, keep stroking, you'll get it right...

If your PC could not display anything using the AGP or PCIe port or even using an old PCI video card on the PCI slots, this could be a motherboard problem.

maybe because the resolution that is set on the video card is too high that why the monitor can handle it anymore., make sure that the VGA or DVI out is still working or try to clean the they may contain dust inside

i've got confidence that agp replaced into limited to 8X and pci exhibit is 16x so lots greater efficient. That mentioned i had one and altered lower back to agp. Too many bugs.. yet it rather is probable merely me. wish that facilitates somewhat.
