i dont understand whydo they both cost a dollar

the real question is... why do the DOUBLE cheeseburgers cost the same as regular chzburgers??? It's to give the illusion of value, when really McDonald's is still trying to off load large quantities of beef (into the guts of gluttons worldwide). How could there be any debate as to why Americans are so OBESE as compared to any other similarly developed region?

Double chz burgers are usually about 40 cents more than a regular chz burger. The doubles are on sale right now at some locations for promotional reasons.

So when you order the single, they can easily talk you into a double. The double is a loss leader, but they still make money on them through kickbacks from the local mortuaries, for every double sold.

It's because some people might not want that much food. But because I think you get more meat and extra chesse with the double cheese then I would get the double chesse.

Actually, where i go it's like... five cents more...
But, I guess cuz cheese is really cheap, and they want to attract people to buy the burger?!
Also, they both pretty much taste the same!!! Right???

they wont really lose money, because increased sales will actually bring in more money. also the sandwich takes less than a quarter for them to make. they did this to make MORE money. also its much better than the mcdonalds burger. Much much better.

I think the doubles are only like 30 cents more so this way they think they will be gettting more business.

I don't know but I wouldn't pay 2 cents for either. It's all chemical filled garbage that will kill you. Didn't you see Super Size Me?

Because they're nasty and anything pretty much except the desserts are gross and to this day I've never had a Big Mac.
