The male genetic imperative is somewhat of a curse. Those who don't experience it seem to think of it as some kind of a joke.

It is difficult to describe logically to those who don't experience it because it defies logic so completely.

The best way to explain it is that one feels a lot like a dog on a leash, being drawn inexorably toward a situation that It is both fearful of, but somehow mesmerized by.

Saying that if the consequences were reversed things would be different, trivializes this procreation imperative so completely that it ignores the realities at work in this situation.

The simple truth is it works like a checks and balances system.

If you removed the illogical component of the male sex drive the human race would quickly disappear.

Love and blessings Don

There is an old adage that says that "If the woman gave birth to the first child and the man the second, there would never be a third."
Would it reduce his interest in sex? - probably not. Would it make him think twice about the consequences? - yeah.
But then stretch marks would be badges of honor and birthing experiences would be the theme of Epic Poems. Mother's Groups (sorry Father's Groups) wouldn't be gossip sessions, they would be where valiant heroes reminese about past battles.
Unfair maybe. So why do women give birth? Because we can.
