Great Basketball Player and never lost for words...How do you feel about him??

I love Barkley.

Very few broadcasters have the guts to say what they really think about a particular player or team, but Charles just flat out tells you what he thinks. Charles does that, and for that reason alone, I like listening to him on TNT.

Too many broadcasters are afraid to criticize a player, because they look at it as their job to "sell" the NBA, and it's tough to sell something when you're always talking about how lousy this player or that player is.

But Charles looks at his job as expressing his HONEST opinions on players and teams of the NBA. And he tells it like it is (at least, as he sees it)... very refreshing. No one else out there has the guts to say what Charles says, so I gotta love him for that.

Commonly nicknamed "Sir Charles" and "The Round Mound of Rebound", Barkley established himself as one of the most dominating power forwards in the history of the NBA. He was selected to both the All-NBA First Team and All-NBA Second Team five times, and All-NBA Third Team once. In 1993, he was voted Most Valuable Player and during the NBA's 50th anniversary, named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. He competed in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic games, and won two gold medals as a member of the United States' Dream Team. In 2006, his achievements were solidified after being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He also beat Dick Baveta which was the biggest upset in the year. How can you hate him.

It's hard not to love Charles. Whatever bone-headed thing comes out of his mouth, he never disavows his own words.

Played hard all the time. The only thing dishonest about him was his height listing, but you can blame it SID at Auburn for that. He played center in college and was listed at 6-9 and then they said, Oh, he's really only 6-8. In the NBA he was 6-6 for a while and by the end of his career they listed him as 6-4, lol.

But a 6-4 guy getting all those rebounds!!! Amazing

You know I hated him when he played for Auburn in the SEC, but only then because I was a KY fan and hated having to play against him. He was an awesome college player and awesome in the pros. He has ended up being maybe my favorite pro ever because he is just Sir Charles. His outspokeness is what makes him so likable to me. He says what he thinks. I just wish he could have won a championship in the NBA. Sir Charles is most definately a great basketball player.

Come on, youve gotta like Charles Barkley. Hes hilarious and does some great commentary on NBA games during halftime, and is never afraid to speak his mind. He always says something to mix it up, but then he has something to back it up. Like when he said he wouldnt be suprised is Utah beat Dallas in the 2nd or 3rd round of the Playoffs, because Dallas hasnt been playing like they should, and they have been weak on defense. Also, have you ever seen some of his commercials with Wade about the Tmobile top 5? Those are great. The look he gives that waitress when she asks Wade if Charles is his dad. "oooo *****, I oughta slap the **** out cho skank ***." You know hes thinking that.

Good player. For the most part the schtick he tosses around these days is prescribed culture; you're supposed to like it and think it's funny or there's something wrong with you. I can generally due without the Chuckster as commentator, but I must admit he makes some good points sometimes, like correctly pointing out the welfare won't do any good.

I didn't like him when he played for the Suns, mainly because he talked alot of trash about Phoenix and AZ in general at the time. I love him now, though. He is so funny and seems like a really great guy!
