standard equation is written as
y = ax + b
and slpe of the equation = y' where y' = dy/dx(the first derivative of the equation)
y = ax + b....where (-4,6) is a solution ( x = -4 & y = 6)
6 = -4a + b
y' = a..where y' = 0 (no slope)
a = 0
6 = -4 * 0 + b ...then
b = 6
so the equation is
y = 6
2) using the same way..
kx + 7y = 10
y = (-k/7)x + 10/7
a = -k/7
b = 10 / 7
we have y' = 3
and y' = -k / 7
-k / 7 = 3
-k = 7*3
-k = 21
k = -21
and the equation...
y = - 21x + 10 / 7

x = -4 is the equation with an undefined slope and thus has no slope.
y= 6 is the equation of a line with 0 slope, but it does have a slope. To find maxima and minima we are always trying to find a line with slope equal to 0.
kx+7y = 10
7y = -kx +10y = -kx/7 +10/7
-k/7 = 3
-k =21
k = -21

1) y=6
2) k= -21
Explanation:
1)
I assume you mean gradient = 0. In which case, you have a horizontal line which cuts through (-4,6), so it must have a height of 6 throughout (picture it); hence y=6.
2)
Get it in the form y=mx+c:
7y = 10 - kx
y = (10 - kx)/7
-k/7 corresponds to m (must be 3 in this example), so -k/7 = 3, -k = 21, k = -21.

For increasing cubic binomials the final formulation is as follows: (a + b) ^ 3 = a^3 + 3*a^2*b^a million + 3*a^a million*b^2 + b^3 on your case, a is x and b is -y^5 So (x - y^5)^3 = x^3 + 3*x^2*(-y^5)^a million + 3*x^a million*(-y^5)^2 + (-y^5)^3 Simplified: =x^3 - 3x^2*y^5 + 3x*y^10 - y^15 :D
