I usually wash my hair every day, sometimes every other day and always thoroughly rinse out the shampoo and conditioner. For the last few months I have noticed that I can "smell" my scalp--kind of an oily skin smell. It's really bothering me, I think if I can smell it surely others can? What is causing this and what can I do about it???

Are you using shampoo made for oily hair?
If you are, change brands. Also, use warm water, hot water makes the oil production worse. At least for me it does. Good luck.

Ewww yeah that sounds like a nasty problem. Luckly I might be able to help you.

Sounds like you have skeluitus. Its not very known, extremely rare, but there is luckly help out there for it. You could of course contact your doctor, and in such matters you always should. However I would recommend getting (Found at your local pharmacy).

Johnsons Scalp Care Medical Power Shampoo. You need to use it up to 6 weeks (Twice a day, in morning and in evening). You should see a bit of a difference in two weeks. After 6 weeks if this doesnt solve the problem , then consult your doctor.

Good luck

You may need to buy a special cleaning shampoo. Your hair is oily and does need to to shampooed daily. Don't use any conditioners on it.

your conditioner might have too much oil in it=by the way did you know that we should only wash our hair once a week =you can get it wet when you shower but too much shampooing ruins the luster of your hair

people say washing your hair every day makes it even more oily cuz your scalp gets washed so often and it thinks it has to produce more oil to keep itself from getting to dry. ive always had oily hair, so for me it makes sense ot wash it every day. you might want to try washing it less.
