Lets say the gas station next to your house is selling gas at $3.10 a gallon, and you know of a station about 15 miles away selling gas a $2.55 a gallon. Will you actually save money, if you drive all the way out of town to the station w/the cheaper gasoline price, or is it just better to go the station next door to your house at the higer price???

You save $0.55/gal by driving. Let's say you use a galon getting there & back so that costs you $2.55. If you buy 5 gal or more, you will save. The next question is it worth your time.

It depends if you're driving an SUV or a compact or sedan. For me, I usually won't go more than 3 miles away to get gas unless someone tells me there's a huge difference in price (like more than 20 cents) and I need a half a tank or more (I drive a Saturn sedan and it usually gets about 30-36 miles to the gallon). But it all depends. If it's 20 cents cheaper and 10 miles away, I'll probably go. However, I probably won't if it's 30 cents and 20 miles away.

The stations are zoned according to city growth and traffic density.

High-populace cities always have higher gas prices than their urban counterparts.

If you've got business in that direction, sure you'd save money cuz you're going that way anyway. Not sure I'd make a special trip for it.
