Amy it means the same to me

The real meaning is always pushed to the side so stores can sale lots and lots of Easter candy, baskets, eggs. You name it, they sale it. Kids are having Easter parties at school, but the real meaning of Easter cannot be discussed. The real and most important reason is the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ Son of God. If He hadn't made this sacrifice for us, there would be no reason to celebrate anything. He made life worth living. HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!!

Preach it, sister! I agree with you completely. The dumb Easter rabbit has abolutely nothing to do with the true meaning of Easter! Jesus Christ rose from the grave, conquering death, on Easter! Easter is God's day, not Easter bunny day or egg hunt day.

Easter Traditions

In addition to the religious celebrations and observances of Easter, many countries also celebrate Easter with sweets and baked goods. Eggs, a traditional symbol of new life, are hard-boiled and dyed. Chocolate candies of all shapes and sizes are bought. Cakes and breads are baked and carefully decorated. And in many homes, families celebrate Easter with a gathering of family for an elaborate Easter dinner. According to the book "Festivals and Celebrations," eggs were dyed in ancient times by the Egyptians and Persians, who then exchanged them with friends. "It was in Mesopotamia that Christians first gave eggs to their friends at Easter to remind them of the resurrection of Jesus," author Rowland Purton writes

it means the same to me. I am grateful for Easter. I also like dying eggs, and fixing baskets, to show others I love them.

Amy, please don't let the heathens on here scare you off.

Easter is very special to me. Jesus died on the cross, he suffered for my transgressions that I might have eternal life. I have excepted his offer of salvation. I pray that others will too.

Thank you Jesus for this Good Friday. Thank you for saving my soul. Thank you for your many blessings.

Thank you for this post.

That's what it means to me too. Not that there's candy in the baskets or that soon it's time to hunt for eggs, but that Jesus has
risen.

AMEN!!
