I wish they were growing up in the decade I did because that's when jogging took off. Everyone was crazy about the right jogging shoes and finding shorts that could breathe. We were much more athletic then and proud of our persistence and determination to cross any and all finish lines in our own little world. I wish that was happening now. This is a different world full of electronics and avoiding child molesters. This world seems sick and unhealthy, a far cry from the days when my group rejoiced in our youth and our strength.

Having lived on a farm, we had cows and made our own butter and had fresh milk and the cream, and we had chickens and had to collect the eggs, and had a horse and pigs and gathered the hay in season, planted a huge garden, and walking distance to wild pick blueberries, raspberries and strawberries and having the huge fields to play in whether it be baseball, or other games and our own ice rink in winter crosscountry skiing, snow shoes, ski do. We had chores but also had the freedom to walk out the house door and do all the other above. My children think that would have been great for them

Has to be freedom of movement that is missing today. At 8, I was out of the house and roaming freely w/ friends and wouldn't be seen 'til I got hungry. Now I worry when My 10 yr old goes to the corner store. Also miss The Andy Griffith show, black and white only.

I remember when i was about 7 and had my own dollar that i earned and was going to buy ice cream but there was also another person who didn't have any money to buy any ice cream so i gave him my dollar. Kids should learn to be more generous and give up something they have for somebody who has none.

I liked it when soft drinks were 10 cents and cakes were 5 cents. You could go to the store with a dollar and eat all you could eat.

I enjoyed my trampoline in the back yard! If my kids want something fun, I'll be sure to get them a trampoline!
