The Orleans is one mile West of the strip on Tropicana. They have very nice over sized rooms(450sq ft) and they do have adjoining rooms with 2 queen beds.
The Orleans was voted the #2 best value hotel in the world by the readers/travelers on trip advisor.
They do have a free shuttle to the strip, one of the best buffets in Las Vegas, and a wide selection of restaurants.
The casino is very nice with lots of low limit tables.
The Orleans is one of our favorites we spend a week or two there every year, and highly recommend the place.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for more than 20 years.
If you want "reasonable" on the strip, the Stratosphere has adjoining rooms.

If you want right in the middle of the strip but don't care that the hotel does not have a pool.

These are "generally" what I would call "reasonable" price hotels.
If you want a four star hotel, the Luxor is generally the most reasonable.

Your target price of $100 is very easy to do midweek. Even Hard Rock has rooms for $89 midweek this summer. Midweek usually starts around $45 at the low end hotels casinos on the strip. Imperial Palace (IP) usually has the lowest priced rooms of a major casino on the strip. IP is kind of ugly, but it is centrally located. ================================= Weekend prices at a semi-nice casino are usually way over $100. Just checking Hard rock for today, hey are offtering a room for $200 for tonight (friday) and $300 for tomorrow. Terrible's casino is a local casino just across the street from Hard Rock. It's about a 500 yard walk. There is no nice dining (just buffet and cafe) and minimal table games. But you get a decent swimming pool and a 42” Plasma TV. Their newest rooms are about $75 per night for today and tomorrow. Pay a little extra for a room in the new tower, since the other rooms are pretty old. I would expect you would be going to concerts and restaurants at Hard Rock. ------------------------------ Imperial Palace has last minute rooms over the weekend for $80 and $90. IP is on the strip but these rooms are thirty years old. Harrah's has been telling people that they are going to tear this hotel down since they bought it three years ago. The new tower at Terrible's Casino is about 2 years old.

Try the Polo Towers. It's a timeshare on the strip that rents rooms like a hotel. They have a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite with a kitchen and living room that sleeps 6 pretty cheap and you can get an extra studio that sleeps two more. www.polotowers.com

Try the Stratosphere. They have adjoining rooms, or you could have one party get a small or large suite and they have adjoining rooms on those, too.

Try the Luxor Hotel, Treasure Island, Paris and Caesars - if you look at their official websites, you can probably get a good deal.
