why is "being naughty" or "being a bad boy/girl" and other similar phrases relate to something sexual?

Is it just me or is it no wonder why we think sex is a sin, or is "dirty" in our society? It should be seen in a positive light, not something we should feel guilty or ashamed of.

I hope my question made sense, it was very hard to word it.

Your question makes excellent sense, and I don't have a good answer for it. Why, indeed, berate a good thing?

Because just like with any thing else in life, there is a line between what God intended to be beautiful and natural, and what isn't natural, and is morally wrong, and is vulgar. There are extremes that are so foul, and so profane, that are sinful. Just like anything else, you can take it to far. That's why there is a line. If sins of other people wouldn't have profaned it to begin with, it would still be in a positive light.

The Bible says, "there is only one sin, that affects the body, and that's sexual sin". Look at Aides and all the other things floating around out there. You tell me.....................

I have really mixed feelings about this question. On the one hand I do like sex, a lot even. I lost my inhibitions and guilt complexes years ago. To me sex is a joy, one of our most intimate, creative ways to express our sensual selves.

On the other hand, from a woman's perspective, I can see how taboos and guilt and religion cause many women to become dysfunctional in bed.

Catholicism is very harsh on both men and women.

That's not the whole story. Men are largely lauded for their sexual conquests and have been throughout history.

Women on the other hand are branded as whores and sluts and wanton loose women if they choose to have more than a marital experience with sex.

Women from India have to walk behind their men. Look at the way women in the Middle East are treated. They have to be covered from head to toe and cannot even look at a man lest they be beaten in public or even stoned to death.

Yet their husbands are allowed to have many wives.

Women in India are murdered and burned so that their husbands can take another wife for another dowry.

Women in Africa, and even young girls suffer through crude clitorectomies to keep them from achieving orgasm as a preventative measure so that they won't be tempted to cheat. Their husbands are allowed to beat them unmercifully, and yet are allowed to cheat at will.

Women in China are forced to kill their daughters so they will not dishonor their families by not bearing a son.

In Japan women's feet were routinely bound cruelly to stunt growth because Japanese men think that small feet are sexier.

I could go on, but I won't. It's just that women in the west have come a long way as far as equality goes. We aren't all the way there yet, but we have a better shot than women in other countries.

This bad girl thing has been ingrained in our brain since Eve allegedly took a bite of the forbidden fruit.

It takes time to change a mindset that has no place in today's modern world. There I go saying modern. There are places on earth that still are in the dark ages.

Sex is perceived many different ways, by many different cultures, but it is always the women who are faulted and punished and demoralized for showing any interest in sex outside of procreation.

I hope my answer made sense, it was very hard to word it.

Its too bad that there can't be a healthy medium. Everybody has to be so extreme.
Extremely disgusting or extremely prudish.
But it surprizes me that you say this in this particular generation where it seems like it doesn't even matter whats natural anymore.
If you can get off with it, hey, go for it.
We are so much worse than Sodom and Gomorrah that its ridiculous.
Christ is returning with a rod of iron; guess what thats for..........

It is dirty because people make it dirty by sleeping with several people in a lifetime or sometimes at a time. People have taken the beauty out of making love, and made it sex.

You'd be suprised at the amount of people who don't think it's 'bad'. I think that everyone believes it's bad but they think everyone else does so they don't say anything.

Many people beleive it's natural, but very few are willing to openly admit it.
