Since you didn't say how big it would be hard to figure..a 1 room school would not cost as much as 2 rooms and that would not cost as much as 10?

Difficult to say exactly, there are a lot of costs involved in building a new school.
A quick search online revealed the following newspaper article (link below) in Pittsburgh.

Here's just a small portion of the text:
