Depends "who does the telling" , Iv'e always been rebellious against the orders of men, because of my childhood.
I can and I did follow the "Right Authority" "five times" in my life.
It's called being led by the Holy Spirit, an undeniable compulsion to go somewhere "dispite" the circumstances and against all odds, fear disappears "totally".
1st time to my brothers home, who I had been "waring" with and hadn't seen for 15 years, He accepted Christ that day and we had three beautiful quality years together before He went home.
All obstacles were removed from our meeting, it was an undeniable compulsion to go to his home, "enemy" territory
and speak the Gospel of Christ to him.
2nd time was to the "meanest man alive" as his family and others called him, he was dying, in fact I went there "against the orders" of others. He was hated by so many, even his own family.
I did the same thing, it wasn't me doing it, I just obeyed the compulsion, when I was there he accepted Christ and then weeped like a baby. I stayed until night, tucked him in and said a prayer for him, and he said thank you as I kissed his forehead.
I visited him until he went "home" a few months later.
Everyone in his family and that knew him agreed, that he must have been the "meanest man alive".
3rd time was when an ex con and his buddies were raising too much hell in the neighborhood. I went there because I was compelled to do so. I had a talk with all three of them, hugged each one then went home. They settled down immediately, i think it's because they sensed what was comming from me was genuine and not "totally" of me, those guys "knew" I loved them, or rather love was in me.
The 4th time was to go see an old aquaintence, I needed a job and so on the way to this mans business I met an old friend of my brothers who gave me a job "right there" on the spot, in less than a minutes conversation.
The fifth time was to my wifes father who I admit, has been my greatest enemy in my life, I went to plead for him to do something for my "new found grandaughter", only time will tell
if his heart will be changed.
I left there with no more hostility in me for him, and no longer consider him an enemy, just a cold hearted man I pray for, that has hurt his daughter all her life.
I am not so much a "macho" man when Someone much greater than myself "leads".
