Go, sometimes called Chinese Chess, is so simple to play that it is hard to get started! White always goes first (as in chess) and places one stone on the board, at any intersection, anywhere on the board. Black then places one stone anywhere. The object is to control territory by surrounding it with your stones, i.e. mark the territory by placing your stones at each intersection surrounding it! Of course your opponent is trying to do the same thing, and he is trying to keep you from doing what you want to do, at the same time! It is very simple, but Go players who are really into it may spend a lifetime learning strategy in this game!
