Do your homework, study, and ask your teachers if there is anything you don't understand.

from my personal experience (was a bad student freshman and sophmore year but i really pulled it up junior and senior year) i got all A's for the last two years of high school. To do it wasnt really hard but you definatly do have to make sure you listen and understand the concepts being taught to you.

First of all, if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend or any friends for that matter that you hang out with every night and day then becomming and A student might have an impact on that. Im not saying that its impossible to have both coexist but for them to its pretty hard

steps you can take to become an A student:
1. stay organized, this means school items and your own room
2. make a list of all the work you have to do so you dont forget aobut it
3. questions. If you have any questions ask the teacher. they are there to help you

basically to sum it up, things that take up time that could be used doing homework should just be forgotten. Focus on homework and studying BUT REMEMBER TO RELAX!!! just because you need to remember all those formulas and dates doesnt mean you cant sit down and watch tv or talk to friends via aim or go out to a movie just manage your time well and avoid serious procrastination

there is a lot of crappy advise here, and a lot of it obviously comes from average students. I myself am in my third year at Stanford and currently have an 3.94 GPA. heres my advise:

Early in term, after the first week is over, take a good day or two assessing your classes/teachers and determining what it is goig to take to get an A. For most classes all it takes is to pay attention in class, speak up (to allow the teacher to get to know you/ see that your trying), and do your homework every day so you wont have to cram. Make a study plan for what you will study each day for the rest of the term (you should know from the syllabus). and then, do it. At the end of each day, go over what youve learned RIGHT before you go to sleep. Because studies show that the human mind reviews info just learned while in REM sleep, so the next day youll know it like the back of your hand. Do this everyday before you go to sleep so that when the test comes youll be able to do it with your eyes closed.

the last thing, and this is VERY important. HAVE FUN. make sure you get your studying done during the week so you can go out on the weekend. get drunk, get laid, go to the movies, go streaking, do anything! this way youll come back the following week refreshed and ready to go again full blast and not get burned out. make sure you incorporate your studies into your life so theyll be more interesting and youll retain the info longer.
also, the last step is to pick me as the best answer :) good luck!

Do what is expected of you. Do your homework before you play, attend class and pay attention. Ask questions if you don't understand something and let the teacher know you want to be an outstanding student. When given the chance to do a little extra, always do it, and do it the best you can.

There is this joke about a beautiful young co-ed who goes into her professor's office. In a seductive voice, she says "Professor -- I'll do ANYTHING to get an A in your class!"

He looks at her and says "Great -- do the work."

You want As -- do the work.

Manage your time well. If given an assignment--do not wait until the last minute to do it.

Get all A's in your classes. Stop being a tramp and worrying about what all your "friends" are doing. Bust your butt.
