If true, the reason for funding a terrorist group, revolutionary movement, or even opposition party in a hostile nation should be obvious: to destabilize that nation, to give them problems at home to worry about, and embolden any sympathizer you may have there.

For instance, Iran supported anti-Baathist revolutionaries/terrorists between thier war with Iraq, and America's invasion of Iraq, and they're probably still supporting those same groups, who are now Shiite 'insurgents' or 'millitia.' Same people involved on both sides, same motivation: to make Iraq less of a threat to Iran.

Happens all over, not just with superpowers and regional players, but all the way on down the line. Eritria and Ethiopia, get into these kinds of squables.

Heck, interests in Nevada fund opponents of legislation in California to persue thier own interests.

The U.S. isn't. You probably think that FDR knew that Japan was going to attack Pearl Harbor and that the Bush administration blew up the twin towers. Not everything is a conspiracy.
And if you are going to site news articles as your proof, you might want to not pick two of the most liberal publications on the planet and an on-line chess website.

You want Bush impeached on what grounds? Because you think the US is funding terrorist groups in Iran? How naive can you be? We're fighting Iran in Iraq! And how stupid would we be if we weren't watching Iran?

Basically if you are in Iran, and work for the government in any way you are working with a terrorist group. That is like trying to throw a ball in a barn and not hit hay.

Nope they are not funding the act..

I guess this is some kind of joke that has been truncated in the British news papers...

Let me also clarify that not everything that is printed in the News is true...
