Hardwood floors, because they are easy to clean, match almost any decor, and it feels and looks more comfortable and better. I only like small carpet rugs for a certain area and tile in the bathroom and kitchen.

I like hardwood floors because I can decorate them with a room sized throw rug and change it more frequently. They also have better resale value than carpeting and tile looks too cold and uninviting in the living room.

Definitely hardwood! It's an elegant look that goes with anything. Tile is for kitchens and bathrooms. I wouldn't put carpet anywhere but a bedroom.

I think for me it would depend on the house. Tiles are out though. If I got a cute little "western"/"country"/"forest" house, hardwood. If I got a new, and big house... carpet.

For the living room, I prefer carpet. It's soft and comfy. Makes me more comfortable. For places like kitchens, entryways and hallways, hardwood and tile are great.
