i work in a pet shop, and only dry foods have been affected by the recall, and this brand was not affected, its an all natural pet food, all the natural brands, wellness, chicken soup for the pet lovesr soul, numans own, merick. have not been affected, wheat gluten is a by-prouduct made in a lab, and is put in low-quality pet food, so as long as you buy pet food from a pet store, and not wal-mart, or a grocery store, you should be fine, i work at Dee-jo's more than pet supplies, in miller place NY, our phone number is 631-928-5898 if you have any further questions, and dont go switching your pets foods right away, it will make them sick, you have to slowly ween them off of their current food onto the new food. but if you feed your pet a natural food, you should be fine.

It appears the contaminated wheat gluten has been in the market longer than when it had been detected. On hindsight, it is now being considered as reason for deaths of some pets in the last few months of 2006.
Was it rat poison or melamine? Scientists say that under lab conditions, no one can prove that melamine is poisonous . Sure. that makes me want to buy those pet food brands again? NOT!

Wheat gluten is not a brand name, it is an ingredient in pet food. Yes, you should definitely not use products with wheat gluten as that is considered to be the source of where the melamine came from. Besides, a lot of pets are allergic to wheat gluten, even if it isn't tainted, which my parents' dog is, so, you may not want to use products with wheat gluten for that reason as well. The fact that my parents' dog was allergic to wheat gluten is probably what saved her! Thank god, in this case, for allergies!
