ok so yeah start menu then EA games and sims 2 (if you have expansion packs go to the newest expansion folder i.e. pets or nightlife or seasons) and then bodyshop. Once in bodyshop pick create parts and obviously new project then whatever you wanna make (clothing, hair is in genetics, makeup) from there pick whatever it is you want to recolor or change or create etc, click export, name it something you can remember (like blue teeshirt) once it's exported open your image editor which you WILL need. In that find & open your clothing etc item (it will be in documents, EA, sims2, projects folder then whatever you named it) once you've opened that file, color it however you want and save as, saving over the texture file. Refresh to see how it looks 3D and if happy click import to game button and voila the clothes you made will be in the game inside create a sim or to buy in a shop. This can be a pain in the butt process to get right but i love doing it myself. =] sorry i was so long winded. oh and if you don't want to do all that here's a website you can download stuff from http://www.modthesims2.com/download.php

Course you can do that =] go on to the start menu, then ea games, then sims 2, then body shop and when you go on that you can export the clothes (as well as hair, make up e.t.c) into an image editing program. you can also download clothes and items that other people have made off the sims 2 site and some others, hope that helps
