liberals claim to be advocates of free speech and expression and tolerance. yet they practice neither when it comes to something they disagree with.

for example, they say that everyone has a right to their opinion and should be encouraged to express it. yet they protest fox news, bill o reilly, rush limbaugh, ann coulter, michelle malkin, michael savage, and any conservative speaker and try to silence them.

so freedom of speech only applies to what liberals want to hear but conservative opinions should be silenced by force if necessary. is that democracy?

Conservatives do the exact same thing. So who's the hypocrite now? If you ask me, liberals and conservatives are all alike. They both see politics and life with tunnel vision, blind to their own hypocrisy and blind to the fact that most issues are not the dichotomy they attempt to present. It is a shame there are only two parties: the do nothing party, and the do everything wrong party. America deserves better.

Both sides are really guilty on this one.

Conservatives don't want to hear liberals talk. Liberals don't want to hear conservatives talk. Both sides are firmly rooted in their positions, and don't want to have a discussion about common ground and possible compromises and solutions.

Which, of course, is part of the problem. Tip O'Neill and Ronald Reagan disagreed, but they talked. And got some things done. Might be a lesson there.
