Petsmart only had males for some reason

Most big stores such as Petsmart only carry males of species like this because the males are prettier and sell faster. They don't care if customers want to breed them or not, they only want the fast sale. Contact a local independent pet shop, they can get some for you. If you plan on breeding them, be sure to get 3-4 females for every male you have and tell the store about how big yours is so they can try to get females of about the same size.

There are also many websites that sell them, but I always recommend that you buy fish locally and support your local shop.

My sister used to work at Petsmart, and she said that each store is designated as one sex or the other - like one town gets all females, and the other town gets all males. They do this to prevent accidental reproduction. So just call around to other Petsmarts near you to find the one that has females in your area. I knew they did this with their mammals, I didn't realize they also did it with the things in the fish display.
