My husband is in iraq, so having him take care of her is not an option. So how do I keep my baby healthy, but still be able to give her the attention she needs?

just wash wash wash wash your hands is the single best thing you can do to prevent the spread of germs and infections and don't kiss your sweet little baby until your feeling better!

I just went through this myself. I was sick and I have 2 month old. My partner works so that leaves me at home with the baby. I asked my doctor what I could do to avoid getting my baby sick. She told me to wash my hands before picking him up, fixing his bottle, etc. was the best thing I could do to prevent him from getting it.

Breastfeed! I know this seems backwards, but everything I've read says that your antibodies pass thru to the baby via your milk (sort of like a vaccination).

Wash hands and dont "nuzzle" too much.

It`s hard...I`ve been sick with a cold all week and this morning my 8 1/2 month old woke up with a runny nose and you can hear it alittle when he cries!! Poor baby!! I feel really bad but I washed, washed and washed my hands!! (so much I have dried out my skin!!) Good luck! Hope you feel better and your daughter don`t get sick to!!

As hard as it may be, try not to kiss her or breath directly in her face. If she touches your face or lips, make sure she doesn't put her hands back in her mouth. Wash her hands.
But there is not that much you can do. If she gets sick, so be it.

Wash your hands and breastfeed. When you breastfeed the anti-bodies are in your breastmilk and get to your baby, and it protects her. I was sick a couple of times when my daughter was still nursing and she never got sick.

Are you breastfeeding? If so this will help prevent her from getting sick. She will get the immunities you are making.

Wash you hands a lot, too.
