Boyshorts are made for girls, but have leg openings that resemble shorts, and go around the thigh horizontally, as opposed to diagonally, closer to the hips.
Boxer briefs are for men...they have an opening in the front which women's underwear won't have. They are cut like boxers, but are made from stretchy cotton, like briefs, thus the name. Generally, they fit more snugly along the thigh than regular boxers, due to the fabric that they're made from.

well boyshorts are women's and boxer briefs for men.
boyshorts are usually shorter, and can cover the entire butt or can be short enough to show some of the butt.
boxer briefs are usually closer to shorts, and go down the legs a few inches.

they are but they're called boyshorts for womens clothing and boxer briefs for mens clothing

boyshorts are shorter and your butt's supposed to show a little since theyre for girls and boxer briefs of course have the snap hole on the crotch for guys.
