hoo boy... here we go with the "6 rings" 'argument' again.

The idea that Jordan played against much more physical defense is laughable.

Show me ONE clip of Jordan ever getting knocked on his a** while going to the basket. It never happened. Anyone who thinks it did, never saw him play.

No, he wasn't the best ever, but he's high on the list, along with Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Shaq, Bird, Magic and Oscar.

As far as the finals MVP award, this was not awarded until 1969, Bill Russell's last year... Russell would have won 10 finals MVPs had the award been given during his career.

Russell was better than Jordan on every level... he won 2 NCAA titles while averaging over 20 pts and 20 reb per game in his college career (only about 5 players have ever been 20/20 players in college)

He also won 11 rings in his 13 year career (as opposed to Jordan's six rings in a 15 year career). The only NBA final Russell lost was because he played on a broken ankle (and Jordan is considered a superman because he played with the flu).

Russell also led his Olympic team to the most dominant performance in Olympic history, winning by an average of 55 points/game (the dream team could have done that, except Jordan couldn't throw a ball in the ocean in '92, shooting only 45% from the field, in addition to being the biggest ball hog on the team). In fact, Jordan shot .451, Christian Laettner shot .450, everyone else on the team was over 50%, and most of the guys were WELL over 50%.

No Question, Jordan is the Greatest of all time! He Was the Best on both ends of the floor, He has won the scoring title and defensive player of the in the same season. 6 for 6 in the finals with 6 MVP's. Won all of his rings without a great center. Won at every level of Basketball, high school, NCAA, Olympic & NBA! Scored all his points without the "hand-check rule" that has let Kobe run untouched and score on soft D? Jordan played against much more physical D. Kobe tore the Lakers apart and tried to win without Shaq, He failed to make the playoffs, & Shaq made good on his promise to Maimi. Kobe will never win without Shaq, while Jordan made every team he was on better.

Yes, how many guys out there have 6 rings and 6 NBA Finals MVPs? Just Micheal Jordan. That answers your question.

Yes, he was the GOAT

the Greatest Of All Time.

Kobe is good, but he's the guy on the team. He's the guy they tell them, pass the ball to him. Michael had a great team and still he stood out. The Bulls were a great team back then.

Even his NC TarHeels final was legedary. The guy clutched it for goodness sakes. He went away, came back and won more championships for the Bulls.

Kobe Bryant has broken many NBA records that Jordan has not. It is now King Kobe.

He may not have been statistically...but he brought money into the NBA like none before or since. Mike appealed to people who were not even into basketball, that's big.

He is still one of the most recognizable faces worldwide.

Every player has their strengths and weaknesses. Michael Jordan has so many strengths to his name and not many weaknesses. He is truly an amazing all-around player. During the time he played, he WAS the greatest. So far, he is.

No one will be as Michael Jordan. He's the best ever. I guess the closest one who'll come next will be, Magic.
